Wednesday's Daily Menu:

All times are Central

Nashville: RHP Wily Peralta at Round Rock (Rangers), 6:50 PM pre-game, 7:05 gametime

Free Live Audio Link

Jeff Hem is the new play-by-play voice of the Sounds; follow him on Twitter @jeffhempbp; we'll link to his blog updates at On the Air…and Off

MiLB.TV -- for subscribers; all Nashville games, home and away, will be available to watch via MiLB.TV's $39.99 season-long package ($9.99 to pay for a single month). We imagine the audio feed is from the home team. All MiLB.TV details available at the link.

**********

Huntsville: RHP Evan Anundsen at home vs. Mobile (Diamondbacks), 6:28 PM pre-game, 6:43 gametime

Free Live Audio Link -- Select the Huntsville feed from the MiLB main audio page

Alex Cohen is the new play-by-play voice of the Stars; follow him on Twitter @alexmcohen. It's fantastic that Huntsville is returning to what will be a traditional broadcast format this year. All games, home and away, are scheduled to be broadcast.

MiLB.TV subsciption note: Huntsville road games in four locales (Mississippi, Tennessee, Jacksonville and Pensacola) will be broadcast.

**********

Brevard County: First, it's the completion of Tuesday's suspended seven-inning game (Manatees lead 3-2 in the top of the 5th), then LHP Jed Bradley and TBD (likely RHP Brooks Hall) in the regularly-scheduled doubleheader at home vs. Charlotte (Rays), 11:05 AM gametime; each contest slated for seven innings

Free Live Audio Link -- Select the Charlotte feed from the MiLB main audio page

Once again this season, Brevard does not have its own audio coverage. It appears two teams in the Manatees North Division (within which the majority of games are played) have audio, and all six teams in the South Division have audio (at least for their home games), so there will be opportunities to listen to approx. 70% or Brevard's games this season, just all from the opponent's perspective. There are no Florida State League games on MiLB.TV this year.

**********

Wisconsin: RHP Matt Miller at home vs. Quad Cities (Cardinals), 6:45 PM pre-game, 7:05 gametime

Free Live Audio Link - 1280 AM WNAM

Chris Mehring is back to do his customary fantastic work as the Voice of the Rattlers. Follow him on Twitter @CMehring; we'll link to Chris' infamous blog often -- Rattler Radio.

MiLB.TV -- for subscribers; Wisconsin is one of only two (Great Lakes) Midwest League clubs that have all their home games available via MiLB.TV; Chris' call provides the audio. So for the $39.95 season-long package, fans in Brewer Nation can watch all Sounds games, all Timber Rattlers home games, and 24 Stars' road games (one Helena series this summer, too).

**********

Helena: LHP Brent Suter at Missoula (Diamondbacks), 7:50 PM pre-game, 8:05 gametime

Free Live Audio Link -- Select the Helena feed from the MiLB main audio page

We're lucky to have Steve Wendt back on board for another H-Crew season.

**********

Arizona Rookie (Maryvale): at the Giants' complex in Scottsdale; 9:00 PM gametime; never audio for games in this league

**********

DSL Brewers: at the DSL Braves, 9:30 AM, although game data won't be available until late afternoon at the earliest

Naturally, the start of the Manatees tripleheader is being delayed by rain.

Tripleheader G1: Charlotte 5, @Brevard County 3 (8 innings)
- Yesterday's game, resumed in the 5th inning

BC Box
Hat tip to Tedaldtada, who provided a half-game recap in yesterday's Link Report.

The Stone Crabs scored a run on what looks like a squeeze play in the 6th, and got two more runs from a sac fly and then a triple in the 8th to seal the deal on this one -- was this one scheduled to be a 7-inning game, since it technically became part of a "double"header today? If so, this was essentially an extra-innings win for Charlotte.

The delay/postponement of this game certainly reversed who the baseball gods favored in terms of pitching -- BC starter Taylor Jungmann had put together an effectively wild performance, especially considering that his fielders supported him with four errors in the first four innings! Charlotte's starter Enny Romero, on the other hand, had walked five batters and allowed three runs through his four innings of work.

With the game restart came a reversal of the pitching fortunes, with Chris Andujar & Jim Patterson combining to shut out the Manatees in today's segment... while Greg Holle and Tom Keeling each allowed multiple hits, hit batters, and allowed Charlotte to score. All three 'Tees pitchers hit batters in this one, with Jungmann & Holle double-dipping. But hey, at least this one's over... now two more games to go today for the 'Tees. Go get 'em, fellas!

Mike Walker led the way offensively, going 2-3 with all three RBI for Brevard County. T.J. Mittelstaedt (double, walk) and Shea Vucinich (single, walk) were the only other BC players with hits. Jason Rogers walked three times, including one IBB, and the big man even swiped second base in the 3rd. Leadoff man Reggie Keen walked once, was hit by a pitch, and stole second on his lone SB attempt in the game.

BC PbP
Here's the game-winning 8th inning for the Stone Crabs:

Charlotte Top of the 8th
-Pitcher Change: Thomas Keeling replaces Greg Holle.
-Lucas Bailey singles on a line drive to left fielder Jason Rogers.
-Christopher Murrill out on a sacrifice bunt, pitcher Thomas Keeling to first baseman Cody Hawn. Lucas Bailey to 2nd.
-Robby Price hit by pitch.
-With Robi Estrada batting, wild pitch by Thomas Keeling, Lucas Bailey to 3rd. Robby Price to 2nd.
-Robi Estrada out on a sacrifice fly to left fielder Jason Rogers. Lucas Bailey scores.
-Mikie Mahtook triples (5) on a line drive to center fielder Reggie Keen. Robby Price scores.
-Derek Dietrich strikes out swinging.

Be sure to see the Bradley pitcher face in the picture.

Bradley shines in 8-1 Brevard win
06/27/2012 8:04 PM ET
By Frank Longobardo / Brevard County Manatees

VIERA, Fla. - In the first game of Wednesday's scheduled doubleheader - and the second game of the day - Jed Bradley threw a seven-inning complete game as the Brevard County Manatees routed the Charlotte Stone Crabs, 8-1 on Wednesday afternoon at Space Coast Stadium.

Bradley (5-6, 4.68) allowed one earned run on six hits, while walking one and striking out five. Bradley's seven innings of work tied his longest outing of the season and the one earned run he allowed is the fewest he has allowed in a start since April 17.

The southpaw had plenty of run support though as the Manatees' (4-1 second half, 33-40 overall) offense dropped six on the Stone Crabs (2-2, 31-40) in the first inning. Brevard tallied five hits in the inning; with the big blow being a two-out, two-run double by Cody Hawn - his 19th of the season. The 'Tees also pulled off a successful double steal that saw John Dishon take second and Joey Paciorek swipe home plate for a run.

The game remained 6-1 until the bottom of the sixth as Brevard County tacked on two more runs for good measure for Bradley. Nick Shaw scored on a wild pitch after reaching base with a triple and Brock Kjeldgaard drew a bases-loaded walk to drive in the other run of the inning.

Shaw and Hawn each had two hits in the game as the 'Tees totaled eight altogether.

Box Score

So as Link Report HoF'er And That implied, no one really saw that kind of start coming from Jed Bradley considering he has been getting rocked since mid-April. I really hope some kind of breakthrough has been achieved because Bradley really had me giddy with the way he started his career. Final complete game line: 7 IP 6 H 1 R 1 ER 1 BB 5 K 1 HBP 8:4 GO:FO 1 E. I wonder if the 6-run 1st inning was very beneficial for Bradley's mindset?

The hitters provided plentiful amounts of support for Jedidiah. Cody Hawn (2-4 2B) and Nick Shaw (2-3 3B BB) were the multi-hit hitters. Jason Rogers (1-3 BB) and Brock Kjeldgaard (1-3 BB) were solid in the 4 and 5-hole. As mentioned, Joey Paciorek stole home as part of a double steal.

Game Log

Quite a few 6-run innings around the system lately.

Nick Shaw singles on a line drive to right fielder Steven Tinoco.
Reggie Keen grounds out, third baseman Riccio Torrez to second baseman Hector Guevara to first baseman Philip Wunderlich. Nick Shaw to 2nd.

T. J. Mittelstaedt walks.
Jason Rogers grounds into a force out, third baseman Riccio Torrez to second baseman Hector Guevara. Nick Shaw scores. T. Mittelstaedt out at 2nd. Jason Rogers to 1st.
Brock Kjeldgaard singles on a ground ball to center fielder Mikie Mahtook. Jason Rogers to 2nd.
Mike Walker singles on a ground ball to right fielder Steven Tinoco. Jason Rogers scores. Brock Kjeldgaard to 3rd.
Cody Hawn doubles (19) on a line drive to right fielder Steven Tinoco. Brock Kjeldgaard scores. Mike Walker scores.

Link Report Bonus:

Brewers 2012 27th round draft pick RHP Tyler Duffie (profile page), a draft-eligible redshirt sophomore from TCU, has reportedly informed Milwaukee "that he intends to return for his junior year where he hopes to become a more utilized asset for coach Jim Schlossnagle" (link).

***

This June 9th article indicates that 18th round RHP Hunter Adkins is heavily leaning toward returning to Middle Tennessee State.

Offense dominates in 8-5 Manatees win
06/27/2012 8:16 PM ET
By Frank Longobardo / Brevard County Manatees

Image

VIERA, Fla. - The Brevard County Manatees capped off a long but successful day of baseball at Space Coast Stadium on Wednesday as they took the final game of three from the Charlotte Stone Crabs, 8-5 in seven innings.

For the second straight game of the day, Brevard's (5-1 second half, 34-40 overall) bats came to life as they mashed 11 hits, with five of them going for extra bases. Down 2-1 going into the bottom of the third, the 'Tees plated five in the frame to put the game out of reach from the Stone Crabs (2-3 second half, 31-41 overall).

With one out in the third, Reggie Keen tripled to left and was then driven in on a RBI double by T.J. Mittelstaedt. Following a Jason Rogers walk that put two on with one out, Mike Walker cleared the bases with a double into the right field corner as the Manatees took a 4-2 lead.

Brock Kjeldgaard then hammered a two-run homer to left field that would have kept going if the scoreboard wasn't in the way, to give Brevard County a 7-1 lead. The homer was Kjeldgaard's 36 in a Brevard County uniform as he extended his own record for most homers as a Manatee.

'Tees starting pitcher Brooks Hall (3-3, 4.35) was the benefit of the run support as he went five innings and gave up three earned runs. He allowed six hits, while walking four and striking out one. Hall is 3-1 with a 3.65 ERA in five June starts.

The first five hitters in Brevard County's order - Keen, Mittelstaedt, Rogers, Walker and Kjeldgaard - combined to go 9-for-14 with eight runs scored, seven RBI, four walks and five extra base hits.

With Wednesday's historic "triple header" behind them, the Manatees will hit the road for a six-game road trip. (Ugh) The trip will begin with a three-game set against the Tampa Yankees on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m.

Brandon Williamson (1-4, 5.87) will toe the rubber for the 'Tees as he is looking for his first win since May 19. In his only other start against the Yankees, Williamson allowed one earned run in six innings of work. Tampa is slated to send Jose A. Ramirez (2-4, 4.14) to the mound.

Box Score

This game featured a Brooks Hall mediocre start and a hitting barrage from the top 4 Manatee hitters.

Reggie Keen (2-3 3B BB SB (24)), T.J. Mittelstaedt (2-2 2B 2 BB), Jason Rogers (2-3 BB), and Mike Walker (2-3 2B) were just unstoppable.

As I said, Hall was not the best. 5 IP 6 H 3 R 3 ER 4 BB 1 K 2 WP 4:3 GO:FO. That is now 25 BB and 24 K in Hall's last 45 IP. I can recall Chris Mehring often complimenting Hall on his demeanor and never-say-die attitude, but at some point you need an out pitch. Seth Harvey and Casey Medlen, 2 All-Star closers, were each dinged for a run in their innings. Both guys have major league stuff at their best.

Rogers committed his 1st error in LF for BC but he did chuck a guy out at 3rd. John Dishon nabbed a runner at home.

Game Log

Team Cycle

Brevard County Bottom of the 3rd

John Dishon strikes out swinging.
Reggie Keen triples (3) on a fly ball to left fielder Cody Rogers.
T. J. Mittelstaedt doubles (15) on a line drive to right fielder Mikie Mahtook. Reggie Keen scores.
Jason Rogers walks.
Mike Walker doubles (14) on a line drive to right fielder Mikie Mahtook. T. J. Mittelstaedt scores. Jason Rogers scores.
Brock Kjeldgaard homers (1) on a fly ball to left field. Mike Walker scores.
Cody Hawn singles on a ground ball to center fielder Christopher Murrill.
Shea Vucinich flies out to left fielder Cody Rogers.
With Parker Berberet batting, Cody Hawn caught stealing 2nd base, pitcher Eliazer Suero to second baseman Robi Estrada to first baseman Philip Wunderlich to shortstop Derek Dietrich.

Stone Crabs drop two of three
06/27/2012 9:05 PM ET
By Kyle Bonn

MELBOURNE, FL -- On a day where three games were completed, it was the Brevard County Manatees offense that owned the day, leading the charge to top the Charlotte Stone Crabs two games to one in a series ravaged by rain.

In a series where the first three days saw a total of 4-plus innings played, the two teams tried to get as much baseball in as possible on the final day.

First, the two teams finished up a suspended seven-inning game from the day before, which ended up in the Stone Crabs favor by a score of 5-3 in eight innings.

The game resumed after it was suspended due to rain the previous day, but not before another rain delay of almost an hour. Finally, the game returned to play where it was suspended, with one out in the top of the fifth inning and the Stone Crabs trailing 5-3.

The Charlotte bats tied up the game in the top of the sixth on a bunt single by Robby Price, scoring Luke Bailey. That sent the game to extra innings, where the Stone Crabs went ahead for good on a Robi Estrada sacrifice fly. Mikie Mahtook added an RBI-triple in the frame for good measure.

The teams then played a doubleheader to make up as many games as possible which had been rained out the previous three days. There, the Manatees offense came to life.

In game one of the doubleheader, Albert Suarez (4-4) got the start, and pitched well, but the defense let him down in the bottom half of the first, and six runs came across in the frame.

All in the first inning, the Stone Crabs failed to convert two possible double plays that would have changed the complexion of the inning, Riccio Torrez made an error at third base, and Joey Paciorek was allowed to steal home when catcher David Wendt dropped the relay throw from Derek Dietrich.

Brevard County never looked back from there, and Jed Bradley (5-6) shut down the Charlotte offense to win that game 8-1 and tying the series at one game each.

In the final game of the day, the Manatees bats continued to stay hot, and another big inning allowed them to take charge again.

Charlotte starter Eliazer Suero (1-5) was knocked around in the third inning that saw five Manatee runs come home. Brevard County batters, with one out in the inning, got six consecutive baserunners, five via extra-base hits, the big blow coming in the shape of a two-run homer by Brock Kjeldgaard.

The Stone Crabs took early 1-0 and 2-1 leads, but squandered both and were eventually downed by an 8-5 final. The top four men in the Manatees lineup combined to go 8-11 with four walks in that game, meaning they reached base 12 of the 15 times they came to the plate.

Charlotte now heads back to Charlotte Sports Park for a three-game split series against the Fort Myers Miracle. The first game will feature righty Victor Mateo for the Stone Crabs against left-hander Cole Nelson for the Miracle. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Rattlers hold on for second straight win
By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers scored six runs in the second inning against the Quad Cities River Bandits on Wednesday night. Then, they held on for a 6-5 win at Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium. Lance Roenicke and Cameron Garfield paced the Wisconsin offense with three hits each. The win was the second straight for the Rattlers.

Wisconsin (46-20 overall, 2-4 second half) sent ten men to the plate in the bottom of the second inning to grab a 6-0 lead. Nick Ramirez and Garfield started the scoring with back-to-back RBI doubles. The Rattlers had two on with two outs when River Bandits starting pitcher Tyrell Jenkins walked Chadwin Stang to load the bases. Quad Cities went to the bullpen for lefty Jonathan Cornelius. Roenicke welcomed Cornelius to the game with a two-run single to left and the Rattlers were up 4-0.

Cornelius struck out Brandon Macias, but the inning continued as the ball rolled to the backstop and Macias reached first to reload the bases. Mitch Haniger made Quad Cities pay for that mistake with his second hit of the inning, a two-run single to pad Wisconsin's lead to 6-0.

The River Bandits (38-37, 3-3) came back in the top of the third inning against Wisconsin starter Matt Miller. Colin Walsh hit his sixteenth home run of the season, a three-run shot, to cut the Rattlers lead in half.

Quad Cities made it a 6-4 game in the top of the fourth inning on a two-out RBI single by Matt Williams.

The Rattlers offense had several chances to add to their lead in the middle innings, but could not tally any insurance runs.

Miller worked out of a jam with runners on second and third with one out in the fifth inning to hold the two run lead, but he was done for the night. Miller struck out five, but tossed over 100 pitches in five innings. He turned the game over to relief pitcher Tyler Cravy in the sixth.

Anthony Garcia hit a solo homer in the seventh inning off Cravy to make the score 6-5. Then, Cravy retired the final five batters he faced to protect that one run lead into the ninth inning.

Tommy Toledo entered the game for the top of the ninth. He allowed a one-out single and threw a wild pitch to put the tying run at second base with Walsh and Garcia due up. Toledo calmly closed the game by inducing a pair of groundouts to end the ballgame and pick up his fourth save.

The Timber Rattlers begin a three-game series with the Peoria Chiefs on Thursday night. Fond du Lac native Chad Pierce (1-2, 3.73) is scheduled to make the start for Wisconsin. Gerardo Concepcion (2-5, 7.38) is set to start for Peoria. Game time is 7:05pm.

Thursday night is Ultimate Tailgate Night at Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium. Mad Dog & Merrill and 95.9 KISS FM's Dayton Kane will host the pre-game tailgate party in front of the ballpark. Festivities include: BBQ sampling, beverage sampling with the Miller Girls, and contests for Ultimate Griller and Ultimate Tailgater.

Plus, Cher-Make will be giving away a 3-piece BBQ Grill set to the first 1,000 fans.

All fans can enjoy 16oz soda and beer for just $2 as part of Thirsty Thursday presented by Slugger's Sports Bar! After the game, those in attendance can take their ticket stub to Sluggers Sports Bar - located in Super Bowl on Northland Avenue - to win Miller Lite drinks and prizes.

If you can't make it out to the ballpark, tune in for the broadcast on AM1280, WNAM or timberrattlers.com starting with the Miller Lite Pregame Show at 6:45. Subscribers to MiLB.TV may watch the game over the internet.

Sports 32 will broadcast the game to Time Warner Cable subscribers, too.

Wisconsin Box Score

The Rattlers jumped on River Bandits starter Tyrell Jenkins early, knocking out the Cardinals #6 prospect in the second inning. Cameron Garfield led the attack with a perfect 3 for 3 night at the plate. He doubled, scored a run and knocked in one and was also hit by a pitch. Lance Roenicke also contributed three hits and walk to go along with a pair of RBI. Mitch Haniger and Nick Ramirez each had two hits and Yadiel Rivera went 1 for 3 with a walk.

Matt Miller gave up four runs in five innings, tossing 109 pitches in those five innings of work, but that was good enough to earn him his sixth win of the season. Tyler Cravy pitched three solid innings of relief, allowing just one run on a very long home run by Anthony Garcia. Tommy Toledo closed the door in the ninth for his fourth save.
