This is what you'll get more often than not with a lineup that includes Kotsay, Kottaras, Yuni, and Mcgehee. Throw in the pitcher, and that's 5 out of 9 guys you can get out pretty easily.

Counsell with a rocket foul ball, and then makes an out on a lazy fly ball.....Get him off the team please

It should, but will not happen. Put it this way, Brian the Automator has a greater chance of being kicked off this website than Counsell has being removed from the Brewers roster.

Of course. As always, give credit to the opposing pitcher. How about try this one next time homer boy:

"Brewers bats cold as they get shut out on the road...again"
So Arizona deserves no credit...? How was that not a great pitching performance?

Just sick of hearing the company line by our announcers. I could cut them more slack and give more credit to the opposing team if I wasn't witnessing one of the worst road teams in all of baseball. This is getting old...everyone is a Cy Young against our lineup when we're on the road.

Well one of those days that Collmenter was tough. Back at it tomorrow. Those same guys are in the lineup quite a bit and we score runs. Even worse without Braun. But one question. How come an opposing pitcher can never be given credit but we either kill or praise our pitcher? Kinda works both ways. Sometimes the other team doesn't hit our pitcher.

Well, Collmenter's last start was six shutout innings in Milwaukee. He's pitching really good and seems to have the Brewers number. He pitched great again tonight. I'm not trying to give the offense a pass, because they looked really flat...but Collmenter was great tonight. Just because it sounds like a company line doesn't mean it's not true.

It's the old chicken and egg thing -- which comes first? Either the pitcher throws a gem or our players didn't hit well. Which is it and how do you determine which is really true? All I know is the Brewers have played 50 road games and have only won 18 of those. The chances are pretty good that our lineup is the one to blame for our road woes over the unlikely odds we have to tip our caps to 32 awesome pitchers that shut us down.

Nobody is saying that all 32 road losses are the result of facing a good pitcher who shut us down, some people are saying we did tonight, there's a tremendous difference. The last two games we've faced Collmenter, people in the IGTs have acted like we faced some chump pitcher, when we didn't, outside of a rough stretch in June, he's been fantastic this season. As has been noted, he held us to only 3 hits at Miller Park too, and he had a WHIP of 1.00 entering the game.

Yes, the Brewers have well documented road woes this season, but they just won two tough fought games in a row and then came out and lost tonight against a good pitcher, it can happen.

And his era was 7+ in his 4 previous starts to the 2 vs. us. What does that tell you?

well, I gotta say that last night was an overall suck at Bank One Ballpark (it will never be "Chase Field" to me).

First off, we sat in the best seats I have ever sat in. Two rows off the field right by the Brewers on-deck circle. Just the best seats. Got some great pictures.

It all went downhill from there.

From the obvious (Brewers getting shut out and overall stinking) to the disappointing stuff it just was a waste of my money.

The fans booed Prince quite mercilessly. Rickie too.

The group of four behind us were "baseball fans" in the sense that they knew basic stuff. But they couldn't shut up and they kept spouting out information that just wasn't close. Their discussion about the home run derby and how Prince was such a jerk for just choosing his teammate was ludicrous. I tried to inject that I completely understood and agreed with them that Prince made a horrible mistake from a PR standpoint by not picking Upton for the derby and that just led to more, "oh he's wearing a Brewers shirt, don't listen his garbage" so I just put on the ignore cap since they weren't able to have a intelligent conversation about it.

With those good seats, you're supposed to have in-seat service. I saw our lady, Jane, all of about 3 times. Two of those three times I didn't need or want anything. But when I did she was no where to be seen and wasn't for several half innings. I finally ordered pizza back at the hotel because I was so hungry. (yeah, I could have got up to get something but [a] I wanted to watch the game, and [b] I felt if I splurged for one game for good seats I should be able to reap the benefits.

Luckily, there were many Brewer fans there so it's not like we were the only ones getting grief. But the booing and ridiculing for the errors was just a bit much and more than I've ever seen from the Arizona fans in all my years of attending. Pretty much right on the money with all the criticism I've read in the media the last week or so.

Oh, and another haboob (large dust storm) came rolling in before the game. We were already inside so it didn't affect us but you could see it plainly from inside the ballpark. Felt kind of bad for those that were still traveling to the ballpark or were outside on the plaza.

Tonight, front row of the LF bleachers for us. Hope it's a better experience.

edit: Ah, I forgot to mention this. The D-Backs have started their own racing characters. They've always had the scoreboard racing condiments (ketchup, mustard, relish) with kids dressed in the costumes "running" on the dugout. But now they have official "Racing Legends" running on the field, complete with an in-game race on the field just like the sausages. The "legends" are Randy Johnson, Matt Williams, Luis Gonzalez, and Mark Grace. I'll find the pictures and post them since I'm unsure if they showed any of it on Brewers television.

Anyways, they have done the evil deed of having a double rip-off with the event. First off, it's a direct rip-off of the sausage race, pierogi race, president race that are at other ballparks. But then they have the gall to rip off the Nationals in that the Mark Grace has never won a race just like Teddy Roosevelt has never won in Washington.

pitchleague summed up last nights game pretty much to a T(Plush). My buddy and I were in section 108 right by the Brewers bullpen. My buddy had his Fielder jersey on and I wore my Axford shirt. From the time we walked into the stadium and during the game my buddy was harassed by Dbacks fans for his Fielder jersey saying how "Prince was a jerk for not choosing Upton" and other unpleasant comments I wont post here. Every at bat Prince and Rickie had they were booed. One of the Dbacks fans near me who seemed like a "knowledgable" fan (he kept tossing stats around) said he hoped that both of them got HBP to "prove a point". Then I ended up having some "kids" (21 yrs old if that) behind me pretty much groping and fondling each other in the seats behind me, I did the text the security thing and they showed up a few minutes later. Turns out they were underage and were removed by PPD. As pitchleague pointed out, there was a very good Brewers turnout last night, better than Ive seen in the past. Hopefully tonight is a better showing by the Crew. I think im gonna rock my Plush shirt tonight!

That a random stretch of 4 starts isn't predictive? Narveson had an ERA around 2 in his first 4 starts. What does that tell you?

I think it tells something. The guy isn't that good..........never has been. He's been pretty pedestrian in the minors. His minor league track record indicates an average MLB pitcher at best. The Brewers offense has failed against him.

So I guess has every other offense that has faced him. The guy has an FIP of 3.27. And he has a really good minor league record outside of his stint in AAA last year when he had control issues.
