Pitching Matchup

Rodrigo Lopez

4-4, 4.97

Lopez served up four homers over 5 1/3 innings in his last start against the Cards and also gave up 10 hits. The problem? He's a finesse pitcher who couldn't locate. Lopez has faced the Brewers twice this year, but both were in June and in relief.

Randy Wolf

10-8, 3.45

Wolf was on his way to a second straight gem before running into a heap of trouble in the seventh inning at Citi Field on Saturday. Before that, he'd worked eight innings in two consecutive starts. He's 5-10 against the Cubs.

Welcome home, Brewers! We are ready to see the magic number diminish anytime you are. Why not start with 1-0 for Friday?

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I'll be at the game tonight. I would love nothing more than to just pummel the Cubs for a change and send all their annoying fans home early.

Interesting little article on Yahoo. Read #9 and #20

With that said I am so glad Casey is in the 5 hole and Yuni is right behind him.

Everything is set up so beautifully this season and I feel like the combo of Casey/Yuni will cost us the season, which I have to blame on RRR/Melvin for being so stubborn that they will allow these 2 to ruin everything for us.

Yeah, I tend to agree but it's too late to do anything about it now. Just hope and pray that Casey miraculously reverts to last years form and that Betancourt channels the tiny fragment of himself that knows how to hit.

I am crossing my fingers that when Weeks comes back they give Hairston some starts at SS.

I am more concerned at Yuni's defense. We dont even need them to contribute on offense, the problems are

1) Yuni is allowed to play SS defensively which I am very concerned about. When we face the Phillies we cant hope to be winning by 5 runs late, which means a Yuni error could cost us a game(s). I just hope we can get really lucky and the following hitter will GIDP to make up for Yuni's horrible defense/range.

2) Casey hits too far up in the order and will end up with several high leverage ABs. He will fail, no doubt about it, we just need to hope when he rolls over on an outside pitch for an easy GIDP the ball has eyes and luckily rolls into LF.

I would give Hairston starting at SS regularly about a 0% chance, even though it is the obvious move to at least throw him out there now and see what he has left in the tank.

I know its a down year for Chicago, but I still get nervous when we play them. I can not wait for the Brewers to clinch the division, until that happens. i will have nerves.

Yep. These games against the Cubs almost feel like a no-win situation. If they win, they were supposed to. If they lose, you just get really frustrated losing to such a sorry bunch. In that case, even the Cards losing tonight would only soften the blow.

Rallies that start with 2 outs are frustrating.

Nice start for PIT at STL: 3 runs in the 1st.

Whether he's Betancourt or Betancourt, he still sucks.

Cards' fans wear jorts.
