I could go for a Scioscia disciple world series.

Me too. Plus, it would also prove the old adage that managers don't really matter if 3 clowns like Maddon, Scioscia, and Roenicke can get their teams to the WS.

The Rays are such a fun team and a great organization...what a shame to waste it on such a pathetic fanbase.

I found it humorous to hear the Pirates announcers mock the fan base in TB during today's broadcast. They said, they needed to run a 2-fo-1 ticket offer to get their 14,000 fans there tonight to see this game. How ironic that a crappy-drawing team in Pittsburgh is feeling a superiority complex to the Rays.

Come on, there's a big difference between a team that hasn't had a winning season in 20 years not drawing and a really, really good team not drawing.

Unbelievable. 161 million and no playoffs.
More proof that a hard salary cap isn't the only way to fix a sport. In baseball the better your team the more you play for players, in football the worse your team the more you pay, the two sports just aren't comparable in any way.

The video of Harold Reynolds and Dan Plesac reacting to the Red Sox loss and Tampa Bay win is all-time classic.

Not that it matters now but the Dbacks hit another grand slam and a solo home run and are down 5-7

Harold Reynolds just said that Arizona dominated the season series with Milwaukee. Oh, you silly man.

Also Pujols finished at .299 and 99 RBI. His immortal streak is over, is unable to tie Milwaukee native Al Simmons with 11 straight 100+ RBI seasons to start a career

The Orioles were down to 4.7% to win with 2 out no one on base in the bottom of the 9th.

The Rays were down to 0.3% to win entering the 8th inning down 0-7.

Thankfully it didn't matter, but if the Diamondbacks win last night got them home field or something else major, it would've had to been by far the craziest 24 hours in regular season baseball history. It probably still was.

I think the reason a salary cap doesn't work in football is because the real "currency" in football is quarterbacks, whoever has the good quarterbacks wins. In baseball, I think the "currency" is money, with enough you can gain a pretty unfair advantage. The Rays and Brewers are great now but we will eventually have to reload, the Yankees and Red Sox will never have to reload
